Biofeedback
This safe, non-invasive therapy uses small sensors placed on the skin to show real-time information on a screen about how your body is functioning, helping you see when you are using the correct muscles or when your body is relaxing appropriately. With guidance from a therapist, you practice specific movements or relaxation techniques while watching the feedback. Over time, this helps retrain your body and nervous system so you can control these muscles more effectively without the sensors.
Biofeedback is commonly used for pelvic floor rehabilitation (including bladder or bowel control), muscle retraining after injury or surgery, reducing muscle spasms and pain, and improving coordination and movement.
